No, just about any airline pilot is going to know how to fly an airline or be able to react to situations like this. If they didn't know how to fly an airliner they wouldn't get hired. Since they are required to have loads of training, situations like this are taught on the simulator. Just because dead stick landings on airlines are rare doesn't mean that it takes a glider pilot to glide the aircraft.

Besides, one of the main things trained in glider pilots is the ability to soar over long periods of time by catching thermals, and thermals aren't about to keep an Airbus in the air.
